The Road Ahead

Introduction

Thank you to all the players who have provided feedback over the so far successful launch of the game! This document is a response to the data and feedback we have collected.

If you feel strongly about any changes please reach out to the team, our aim is always to build the best experience possible for our supporters.

Below is a summary of the main changes but we would always encourage people to read each section fully to understand.

3 Main principles have been established from the feedback from the players.

These 3 principles are what was held in mind throughout the design of the proposed changes and new features

Summary of key changes:

  • New token called CHARM to be earned through Racing

  • Shards and Shard Packs to be discontinued

  • Turn in your unwanted Shard packs, Shards and Common Characters for CHARM

  • Renting License allows you to rent out your unwanted characters and cars for CHARM

    • Earns CHARM through snaking until system is released

  • 800 Race Track Pieces to be sold to make up 8 unique Race Tracks - Own a Race track piece and earn Charm when events take place on your track

    • 200 Piece Packs Sold for CHARM - Higher Rarity Chance

    • 300 Piece Packs for Direct Sale - 45 Million SNAKOIL

    • 250 Piece Packs for Fractional Ownership Sale - 45 Million SNAKOIL

    • 50 Piece Packs inside Renting License Pack

    • Options for exchanging more valuable tokens with a smart contract so token balance can remain stable during sale.

  • Fuel hourly pool sizes to be substantially decreased

    • The plan is to keep the current pool for one more week then commence the new structure.

  • New Dancing Game Mode - Nova Ballet

  • Just kidding

  • Building towards races will full event logs allowing for animation of races for Season 2

  • Invest in Manufacturer's shares with CHARM and reap the rewards of glory

  • Manufacturers will compete against each other in the Super Circuit game mode over the course of a week-long Season

    • Players contribute CHARM to make decisions for their Manufacturer of choice, such as recruiting drivers, researching new engine technology, bribing officials.

    • Races to be held live on stream each day with commentary and post-race interviews with characters

Snake Charmers Assemble

CHARM is set to become a token of value in the Nova Rally universe, every single race will earn you tokens, and of course winning will earn you more and more!

Charm's primary use is to allow players to invest in the major game modes of Nova Rally.

Charm will be used to buy attempts for the Mechanic Mastermind game mode

All previous overspending will grant users the equivalent amount of attempts that they can use each week

Below find an example results of a race in Rookie League and the Rewards you could expect.

  • Buy Shares in Manufacturers for the upcoming Super Circuit game mode.

  • Invest in Manufacturers to help them become World Champions. Think of it like Formula 1 but with no rules, carnage is recommended!

  • Purchasing attempts for Mechanic Mastermind

  • Charm is used for recharging and upgrading weapons

  • Charm also used to re-spec characters skillsets and make modifications to cars

  • Charm is going to be considered the main token of value for the game, with options of the token appearing on other blockchains and crypto exchanges.

Save the environment, hand in your Shards!

Shards were something we received a lot of negative feedback on, so we are moving to a different model with a % chance of receiving a full NFT for winning a race. This should make it a lot more satisfying when players get a good drop.

However with so many Shards out there in the wild, we are offering a very lucrative trade in scheme for a limited period of one week initially. Due to the number of common characters in circulation we will allow players to exchange them as-well with the goal of a reduction in the number of common assets.

Trade in your 'trash' for treasure, by our calculations you are better off by nearly 5 times earning CHARM than you are racing.

Shard opening and crafting will always be available and we cannot force players to trade them all in, but this offer is too good to pass up and we expect the majority of shards to find their way back home. From the release of the update you will no longer be able to earn any new shards.

This trade in scheme also includes Common Characters!

Renting License

The aim of the renting license is to provide a benefit to players with unused assets.

There will be a UI and smart contracts to automatically control the renting out of your NFTs with no risk of loss. For players with not much time this is an ideal way to earn passive rewards.

You send your unused cars and drivers to an account and can offer incentives such as topping up the number of Snakeoil and other fuels available in exchange for newer players using your cars to race.

As someone who owns the renting license, you will receive a large % of the CHARM generated by racing.

Any rewards won by the player renting the car are theirs to keep.

Until the renting system is in place you will earn a stipend of Charm per day equivalent to winning 2 rookie races per day. This amount will be reviewed every month but will never drop below 21 per day.

There is planned to be only 2500 Renting licenses, should the game reach larger player base they could be a wise choice holding onto one!

They will retail at a fixed price of $100 in WAX on the 30th October with no more plans to sell anymore. The money raised from the renting licenses is going straight into the development fund to allow a richer racing experience, buying this license should be a good long term decision if you think the game has potential and supports the evolution of the game.

The packs contain a 2% chance of a Race Track Piece pack up to a maximum of 50 race track pieces. This will be done through the preminted pack functionality.

Total Race Track Pieces = 800

8 Race Tracks will be made up of pieces on a 10x10 Grid.

Each individual piece is used and considered in the new Nova Tally race calculation system in Season 2.

Owning Race Track Pieces will be the way to earn the most amount of CHARM in the game, even if you own a small piece of one, the CHARM available for distribution when races take place is very high.

The aim is to layer simple animations on top of beautiful 3D pieces of track to create a much more enjoyable a visual representation of a race.

  • A number of different methods will be used to sell the Race Track Pieces.

  • The main one is selling to players for SNAKOIL.

    • 250 Race Track Pieces are for outright sale for SNAKOIL

    • 300 of them can be bought using fractional ownership, everyone can submit SNAKOIL and be a part of NFT history!

    • They will be listed for contribution a few at a time, giving everyone a chance to contribute.

    • There will be an in-game marketplace allowing users to freely trade and sell their shares in Race Track Pieces should they want to exit.

    • 200 Race Track Piece Packs will be sold for 55,000 CHARM each

    • 50 are available as a small chance within a Renting License Pack

Reduced Snaking Pool Size

In comparison to the current player base, too much SNAKOIL is produced per day. As the game is further developed it makes sense to constrain the supply and make racing more meaningful and the underlying tokens feel a bit more precious.

The new pool size per day is 150,000,000 SNAKOIL and per hour it is 6,250,000, just over a 4x reduction to what is currently in place.

The same algorithm and ratio will apply to the other tokens

This also reduces the incentive to play on multiple accounts to get around the overpay as it is less likely you will hit that amount of races per day.

Despite the pool being lowered, there is plenty Snakoil in circulation for racing, and we are confident that the new reward system will result in people returning to race that felt like they didn't see much progress.

We expect these changes to be implemented in one week.

When you win a race now, there is no guaranteed NFT drop, but you will receive a FULL NFT instead of shards. This overall will be of a greater value to the winner.

The battle mechanics are based on the classic principle of "Sword and shield competition"

Influence on the course of the race

The use of weapons and armour will have a direct impact on the time for which the team will pass in the race. You will waste time, try to save it or slow down the opponent. We introduce terms such as asset Weight and Damage. You can also target specific Characters you do not like and focus your fire on them!

Let’s start with the damage. Using weapons you attack the opponent and it will waste his time. You will be able to influence both one and a group of opponents.

Using protection, you will be able to defend against enemy damage. And block the loss of time from your opponent’s attack. But the armour will have such a characteristic as Weight, which will also negatively affect the time of your race.

(We leave the user the option not to use new assets, he can move faster than cars equipped with weapons, but could be targeted easily also)

All assets are divided into three classes: Heavy, Light, Energy.

Different types of classes will have different characteristics, and some types will require a constant charge. At the same time, the design of weapons inside the class is limited only by our imagination. The heavy class will give you more advantages in defense and attack. But you will always have more weight and deceleration than a light one.

The energy class is the most effective in the game. And we use the principle of Peter Parker "With great power comes great responsibility".

Therefore, to use it, the player will need to constantly charge weapons and armour. And the game introduces the mechanics of buying "Charge" for the CHARM token

The impact of armour classes on the game

Weapon Characteristics

Heavy: Has a lot of weight and slows you down. Can attack (slow down) one opponent who was ahead of you.

Light:

It has a small weight, it does not slow you down as much as heavy. You can attack (slow down) several opponents who are in the time interval available to you.

Energy:

Has the lowest weight in the game. The energy attacks and slows down all the players who were ahead of you a little. This type of weapon requires a constant charge.

Armor Characteristics

Heavy: Has a lot of weight and slows you down. But it compensates for a serious part of the negative effect of the opponent's attack.

Light: It has a small weight, it does not slow you down as much as heavy. It is able to compensate for damage.

Energy: Has the lowest weight in the game. It is able to absorb a more significant part of the damage than other types of armour. This type of armour requires a constant charge.

Upgrading Weapons

The upgrade is based on the principle of the Promotion screen.

“If I find three identical items, I will combine them into one rarer item.” Users will spend CHARM to upgrade the weapons

Rarer items will have better characteristics but require more charge to use them.

Please note this is just a mockup, not the actual final design on how skills will be represented.

Meet Madel, one of our Season Two Drivers!

Each character will have visible stats and you can pay CHARM to respect your character, you can add a little bit of Flair to Madel by subtracting one skillpoint from Discipline for example.

Each Drivers skills will interact with the race track pieces and result in positive, negative or downright crazy events occurring. An example being an aggressive driver may perform brave manoeuvres on tight corners to try and overtake
